Odin restaurant on site was closed unfortunately, but Norwegian food was easy to find anyway – Lille Trondheim was the children’s favorite because of its “Norwegian” taco! And Hoff’s burger is Leanders 1st choice. Both resturants bring food or come and get you and take you back for free.
The kids finally got a pool again (almost TWO! Weeks without pool) Here they got to know some Norwegian guys who unfortunately traveled home again a few days after we arrived: (
Otherwise, we spent the first week here to get started with schoolwork, but when the weekend came, it was time to do something.
The park Nong Nooch Garden is a botanical garden with lots of beautiful plants and flowers, but you can also feed the fish, ride the elephants, and pet the tigers :)) The kids were very happy, even though we adults are not so enthusiastic about animals in captivity and “exhibition”.
Saturday afternoon we got a visit from Mandal – really nice! Bjorn and his wife Apple took us on a drive the next day so we got to see a lot of the attractions and the area in and around Jomtien and Bang Sarey.
We finally came around and got us a ride to the nearest beach, where we finally got some sand between your toes and salt water in your hair. The beach we were being widely used by Thais themselves, and it seems that we are very interesting, because they would like to have pictures of us – and youngest Leander getting pretty tired of being so popular – all to shake him by the hair and talk to him everywhere we’ve been so far.
Then it was suddenly time for Junes mom to visit It was at the height of Christmas Eve, her bringing liver pate, salami, Norwegian chocolate, SNUS to “father” and especially “tuti” to Leander – his vanished lion appeared in the “new “but identical version thanks family Støle-Haven, who tracked him on Jesperhus in Denmark, where he originally came from.
Ten days passed quickly, we managed to swim, let the fish clean our feet, visit Floating Market, shop silk, wool and lots of other things. The couple Tønnessen snuck out to dinner alone one evening at Ali Baba in Pattaya we ate so much good Indian food that we could hardly walk out of there …
But we still took a curious strip through Walking street and it was a strange and at times laughing experience. Was a lot of things on the “menu” there.
So farewell day progressed, the eldest girl had to go home to school and Bjorg were following her. Never fun to say goodbye, and it is weird to go on without her. There were some late nights for the two little ones who suddenly realized that her sister had left home. They have had a great time together. We had two wonderful months with many nice experiences
Jomtien -The Gallery Condomium
Last days we also checked out a small water park in Jomtien, waterslides are always fun Erling passed the examination with flying colors, and we did stop at one last waffle at the Seamen’s Church before we were to leave. Since we will be back to Jomtien about three months we borrowed some books and movies too. Then there was the packing again, reasonably heavy, 15 +15 +20 +30 + in checked baggage overweight in buckets on hand luggage, but got through this time too! Amazing how far you are going to get beeing polite and smiling Norwegians in addition to two blonde blue-eyed children are certainly very exciting. One of the employees cebu pacific boys at the airport would like to talk to them and know how old they were, names, etc. Philippines next!
After Malaysia, we traveled through several cities by bus and cross the border to Thaialnd, where it had been someone who had mistaken us for Russians and other stressful things, until we finally came to Pattaya. There are several …]]>
You dont have to just look at the typical dolphin show, you can also swim with and feed the dolphins, which is really a cool experience.
Other things that might be interesting to see here is Silver Lake, a vineyard owned by Thai ex-actor, Supansa Nuangphirom. The visitors can find a wonderful view here such as the colorful flowers, Khao Chi Chan as wallpaper, sunset by the sea, and so on. Activities and grape-made products are also becoming more attractive to visitors.
For those who like to get up early, you can watch the fishermen coming in with their catch, but then one must be out before 7 in the morning.
Snorkeling or diving can also be experienced. Adventure Divers Pattaya organizes boat trip to the islands around the city, where you can snorkel or dive, which is very cozy on a nice day. The food they serve is also very good. Then you can also see the city from a different point of view and can see how the city really is.
If you want to go to the beach you have to go to a special one for tourists. The locals has their own beach so that tourists won’t take up all the space.
To get around the city you can take small buses or tuk-tuk as they are called. This is the cheapest mode of transport if you only manage to take right tuk-tuk so you do not end up in completely different places than where you were planning to go. This way, you get to see lots of Pattaya and at the same time get to try something new.
It has been very nice traveling through Asia in the recent months. One gets seen a lot and experienced things that no one else can.
Early in the morning after travelling several hours on a bus, we had to take a boat out to the Perhentian islands, still in Malaysia. The island was actually very nice, it was hot with beautiful beaches …]]>
